Jakarta, 22/07 – Opportunities for women to occupy strategic positions in the workplace are increasingly open as a work culture that prioritizes competence develops. However, female leadership doesn't stem from competence alone. It requires a supportive ecosystem, including a family support system, an inclusive work culture, and the courage to continuously learn, adapt, and seize opportunities.

This spirit was the common thread in a public discussion titled "Empowering Women to Grow, Lead, and Thrive," held in conjunction with the launch of the Srikandi YOKKE Community in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 22). This initiative by PT Mitra Transaksi Indonesia (MTI/YOKKE) is part of its support for the Srikandi Mandiri program and serves as a platform for cross-stakeholder collaboration to strengthen women's leadership and encourage a more inclusive workplace.

The discussion featured Senior Vice President of Human Capital Reward & Remuneration of Bank Mandiri Votivia Mardinna, CEO of MTI Sylvia Novieta, Chief Human Capital Officer of AXA Mandiri Financial Services Elisabeth Evaty Dewi, Expert Staff of the Minister for Marketing Systems and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Creative Economy Septriana Tangkary, and Psychologist Sandra Handayani.

Sylvia Novieta said that leadership in an era of constant change demands the ability to adapt, see opportunities, and set priorities wisely.

"Leaders are not only required to solve problems, but also to be able to see the opportunities behind every change. The key is to have the courage to seize opportunities, adapt, and set priorities to have the best impact on the organization without losing the meaning of their role within the family."said Sylvia.

She also encouraged women to not hesitate to take leadership opportunities. She noted that organizations today increasingly prioritize competence over gender when assessing individuals.

"When we believe in our own abilities and dare to take opportunities, the space for development will be more open,"he added.

Sylvia added that Srikandi YOKKE is based on four pillars: Wellness, Leadership, Digital Literacy, and Upskilling Skills, designed to strengthen the capabilities and leadership of female talent in the payment technology industry. Building on the Srikandi Mandiri spirit within the Mandiri Group ecosystem, this initiative aims to facilitate independence, encourage sustainable career growth, and accelerate national digital transformation through an inclusive work environment.

"Support System, Growth Mindset, and Courage to Seize Opportunities Are the Foundations of Female Leadership"

This is in line with Votivia Mardinna's statement, which emphasized that women's success as leaders is inseparable from a strong support system at home and an inclusive work culture in the company.

According to her, experience at Bank Mandiri shows that women who succeed in achieving leadership positions generally have strong family support, especially from their partners, so they can continue to develop in their careers.

"Organizations play a crucial role through an inclusive work culture, equal opportunities, and an environment that encourages women to grow and take on leadership roles,"said Votivia.

She stated that this support can be realized through various policies that promote work-life balance, such as providing daycare facilities, flexible work environments, and women's talent development programs. She noted that the presence of the Srikandi YOKKE Community is also crucial in strengthening this ecosystem through a space for sharing experiences, developing capacity, and expanding women's leadership networks.

Meanwhile, Septriana Tangkary, Expert Staff to the Minister for Marketing Systems and Infrastructure at the Ministry of Creative Economy, assessed that digital transformation has opened up wider opportunities for women to work and build businesses.

According to her, technological developments such as e-commerce, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things enable women to build careers and businesses more easily.

"Technology presents ever-expanding opportunities. Therefore, women need to continue learning, adapt to change, and not be afraid to start with small steps."said Septriana.

The launch of the Srikandi YOKKE Community marks MTI's concrete step in building a cross-stakeholder collaborative platform that supports women in learning, growing, and leading. With a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity, this community is expected to become a space to strengthen women's leadership capacity, expand networks, and produce more female leaders capable of making sustainable contributions to companies, industries, and society.
